The American Holistic Medical Association has set up forums for the use of our members and the public.If you are unfamiliar with forums, here’s a quick description of how it will work: A forum is a web-based message board where messages are posted online and the responses can be viewed online. All AHMA members who choose to participate can log in and read or post messages. Members can also sign-up to receive email notifications when a message is posted on the forum. We hope you do sign up for the emails, as we so dearly want you to be a part of this collective conversation.
NOTE: Non-members can participate in the AHMA Public portion of the Forum--no login is required. This forum is provided for general educational purposes only and is not intended to constitute (i) medical advice or counseling, (ii) the practice of medicine including psychiatry, psychology, psychotherapy or the provision of health care diagnosis or treatment, (iii) the creation of a physician patient or clinical relationship, or (iv) an endorsement, recommendation or sponsorship of any third party product or service by the sender or the sender's affiliates, agents, employees, consultants or service providers. If you have or suspect that you have a medical problem, contact your health care provider promptly.
You can be as active as you choose on a forum—posting and responding to messages frequently, or simply "lurking and learning." Each of these methods of participating has value, so feel free to try both roles on for size.
All messages are posted on the site, so as a member, you can go in and view them anytime you like.
If you have not participated in a forum, you will quickly find that they are great for posting a question about clinical practice, new treatment modalities, office procedures, or simply saying "This is something new we’re thinking about doing…has anyone else tried it yet?" This is also a source of support that we can all offer each other as we attempt to live and breath the holism we try to teach to others.
What we cannot use the forum for is comparing wages, charges or prices (these would constitute antitrust actions). Nor is it appropriate to use it for making derogatory statements about products or individuals. We have a special portion of the AHMA website for job searches, so please save the forum for other discussions. There is no forum monitor, but if inappropriate messages are sent, that will be pointed out to the sender. If it occurs several times, that person will be removed from the forum. Since members of the AHMA tend to live within their good intentions, we don't anticipate this to be a problem, but it does need to be said.
This is not the place to advertise for commercial purposes, such as promoting a specific product or service. However, we are dedicated to helping you succeed in your practice, and so we have other plans in the works for helping you promote your business. This will include an area on the AHMA website for you to post announcements and a portion of the forum dedicated to practice promotion and marketing ideas. Stay tuned!
