"Ecstatic States for Mind-Body Healing and Greater Consciousness" led by Belinda Gore, Ph.D.
The human need for ecstasy is as fundamental and necessary as the need for food, but in Western culture we have nearly lost our capacity to move easily into expanded states of consciousness for healing and renewal.

You need only wear comfortable clothing, bring a yoga mat or cushion, and a journal for documenting your inner experiences during ecstatic trance states.
Over forty years ago, anthropologist Felicitas Goodman discovered a tradition - at least 36,000 years old - that uses postures found in the ancient art of the Maya, Egyptians, Native Americans, Africans, and other cultures. She developed the Cuyamungue Institute to research and explore these ritual hand and body postures that when combined with breath work, drumming, or other rhythmic experience facilitate mind-body healing and greater consciousness
In this highly experiential workshop you will learn a safe and simple six-step process, known as the Cuyamungue Method, for adjusting your nervous system using only a simply ritual, rhythmic sound, and body position. You will explore how to use specific postures for various purposes. We will explore the meaning of healing for self and others; how to consult the larger Reality for answers to personal and global questions through the tradition of divination; methods for making spirit journeys along the World Tree to the Sky World, the Middle World, and the Lower World; and practices traditionally linked with initiation in which the mysteries of death and rebirth are gently and powerfully revealed. Come ready for an adventure!
This exciting two-day workshop is facilitated by Belinda Gore, Ph.D., psychologist, executive coach, and past president of The Cuyamungue Institute in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and is now Director of Training and advisor to the Board of Directors. Dr. Gore’s books, Ecstatic Body Postures: An Alternate Reality Workbook and The Ecstatic Experience: Healing Postures for Spirit Journeys introduce fifty-seven different postures. She has also conducted such workshops internationally. Dr. Gore is the co-director of The Enneagram Institute of Central Ohio and a senior faculty member of The Deep Coaching Institute.
Attend this event if you want to learn a practical method for holistic healing and spiritual wellness that includes developing direct access to inner wisdom, as well as connection with the greater wisdom that indigenous people call the world of the spirits and psychologists call the unconscious. Learning to engage the body, heart, and mind together in spiritual practice provides for deep integration, while the practice is also useful for empowering us to actively participate in our own healing at every level. The wisdom of our ancestors is woven into new discoveries about neurobiology and evolutionary development.
