The Road to Holistic Practice, Part 2: A World of Toxins
The transition to these new ideas was not easy. Colleagues, residents and medical students did not want to hear that the chemicals in children's bodies that triggered their inflammatory symptoms of asthma, eczema and other acute and chronic health conditions were produced directly from the accumulation of toxins in childrens lives. They were in the foods they ate, the air they breathed, the skin products we were putting on them and the ingredients of their vaccines. Even the intensity of their nervous system stimulation was detrimental.Read all of The Road to Holistic Practice, Part 2: A World of Toxins |
Balanced Living Lingo (Farm Talk Glossary)
I have a theory that if you keep your intentions (or resolutions as is the case with each new year) to yourself, you have a better chance of achieving them. The more you talk about something—a goal, a resolution, a project, an intention—the more it scatters. It’s like you’re frittering away bits and pieces of your grand design each time you mention it. The more you talk about it, the less interesting it becomes. Your brain registers a premature sense of accomplishment. |

Qigong For Health
Every year I return to Inner Mongolia to visit friends there. Having lived in Hohot for two years before moving to Beijing, I knew that it’s an interesting town. Not only is this city one of China’s ancient provincial capitals and the hometown of the famous ancient beauty Zhao Jun, but also Hohut contains a fascinating cultural mix of Mongolian and Han cultures. |
Personal Responsibility and Wellness
I work with many people of various ages, backgrounds, belief systems and cultures. The one prominent common denominator in those who are able to make a shift into wellness is an understanding of personal responsibility. Individuals who can embrace and recognize their behavioral responsibilities in life to themselves and those around them are a step ahead in the awareness that can facilitate healing. |

13 Foods That Fight Pain
While many foods taste great, they are also powerful healers in a vibrant multi-color disguise. The best healing remedies also taste fabulous (I can’t say that about any prescription medications). Plus, foods won’t cause the nasty common side effects that most drugs cause. |
Meditation and You
What is meditation?Meditation is a name given to a wide array of techniques and methods that essentially turn your center of attention inward. It is the practice of bringing your body, mind and spirit to the present moment to achieve better health, inner peace and a higher level of consciousness. |
How to Protect Yourself and What to Do if You Get Flu-Like Symptoms
1. Assume Exposure: Assume you’re either exposed to the flu viruses we vaccinate against, or already harboring their genetic material in the cells of your body, and just live your life without fearing them.Read all of How to Protect Yourself and What to Do if You Get Flu-Like Symptoms |
